Average life expectancy and SOL boosts lead to overpopulation. Despite technological advances, the world is bloated by an increasingly resource-demanding population. This requires complex networks of trade and communication alongside huge supply-chains which themselves are more resource-demanding. Eye glasses and painkillers wont matter when overall complexity makes it harder to acquire and produce these goods. Eventually, it will be impossible to hash out resources which in a ~10 billion ppl world means giga-death collapse.
