It occurred to me recently that my vocabulary of woe and woefulness is much larger than my vocabulary of joy and joyfulness. There seem so many ways to say it, off the top of my head: woe, sorrow, sadness, despondency, depression, dysthymia, melancholia, morose, wan, bleak, lugubrious, weltschmerz. What are some words for the various typologies of being happy?
