Wealthy Blacks have little or nothing more to say than wealthy Whites, and Black poverty is grossly outnumbered by White poverty. Don't fall for the race meme. Race, when contextualised, contains many little truths (especially in America), but nothing so significant that it can be used as any kind of gauge for literary potential. A Black American's ancestral journey into poverty may be unique, but the content of his poverty is generally indistinguishable from that of an equally disadvantaged White, and so their plights should be approached with equal and due consideration.

You shouldn't feel AT ALL comfortable with "this approach to equalising social structures". It is in deference to shallow thinking, to a race-based guilt sourced from elemental misfortune seen decades, centuries ago, and not since; the systems that generated that misfortune no longer do. New systems might propagate new misfortune, but then it's a system-based issue, not one that can be explicated via individual characteristics, no matter how often they show up.
