I kinda gave up on Scalzi after the series turned almost imperceptibly into space opera.
Kloos'es Combat Air Controller in spaaaace was really derivative, an issue shared with the most contemporary military sci-fi. The genre just can't seem to move from killing space hajis.
I never could get into Drakes writing.
I'll definitely check out the rest.

If you have the time, look up Germline by T.C. McCarthy.
The book is refreshingly brutal.
