How to make /lit/ friends?

I'm working on a non-fiction book. I've had something like a dozen lapsed book ideas before, but I feel that this one is particularly original, and I'm committed.
The biggest obstacle with this particular thought is that it is an extremely broad, abstract subject, and I don't yet know enough to properly write it, so I can't just gush wordcounts out and trim later; I need to actually read the bibliography I've amassed, and it keeps growing offshoots.
I posted before about possibly losing my job soon, or just quitting, and using the money I've saved to work on it full time for a few months. I had a check-in at work today that went well enough keep me unfired at least until the end of next week, but I'm still not optimistic.
I don't have much of a routine with it except that I have no life outside work and it matches my reading interests regardless so I chip away at it a little ever weekday, and wholly devote my weekends to it.

I'm 23 and considering quitting my job to attempt to write my first book. I have money saved up and a bibliography collected and scattered notes to develop into chapters. Even if a flop, and even if I never write anything else, I feel like it would be something to be proud of the rest of my life: "I wrote this."

I might get fired this month and I have a lot of money saved up and if I do get fired I'm thinking of not looking for a new job and instead taking a crack at a first book. I have what I feel to be a relatively unique non-fiction idea, and a good idea of how its components interrelate to form a bigger picture, but all I have to show for it so far is a largely unread bibliography and a rambling 20 page single-spaced essay that needs to be separated out into sections and more carefully developed with proper citations and transitions. Even if it were a flop I feel that, if I achieved recognition later on in life, it would be a good flop, that it would be a good feather in the cap of my "brand."
