hardcover or paperback? which does /lit/ prefer if you have a preference? asking because I'm thinking of starting a small physical collection.

Anyone have opinions on Dutch vs. Norwegian (and by proxy, Swedish/Danish) literature? Considering learning one of the two languages but I don't know which would be more enriching to learn.

Other than just going down the proverbial wiki rabbit hole, what's the best way to learn more about eras/genres? Anyone have books or documentaries about this?

Examples:
>Romantics
>Gothic
>Vicotrian
etc...

looking for serious advice here. how does one actually write an argumentative English paper that isn't complete bullshit. how the fuck am I supposed to form 'an argument' about literature? isn't the purpose of literature to represent consciousness? to work against generalization? i don't want to end up in "the Faerie Queen is actually an allegory of an allegory" or "Chekhov exposes poverty" territory

What are you passionate about, and when did you realize it?
