Is this any good?
Also, what else is there besides The Hobbit and LOTR? I see a few books but it looks like they were written by his son, and after Dune I don't want to go down that path again

Was Elric influenced by Turin Turambar?

>Black sword
>Doomed by destiny
>Wincest
>Both prone to kill friends and allies and to bring ruin whenever they go
>They get both killed by their swords in the end who also talk for the first time

George R.R. Martin
>Tolkien was afraid to kill off major characters
Um... try again sweetie.

Why are modern authors such pretentious assholes, and why must they do their best to degrade the people they base their works on?

Yeah, i think the only fantasy books that don't have that tacky Games Workshop warhammer feel are Tolkien books

Any other Tolkien fans on here?

I just finished reading Tuors journey to Gondolin and Narn i Hîn Húrin. I have to say I feel incredibly sorry for Túrin and I'm not really sure what Tolkien was angling for when writing his character. It seems to me that he was being incredibly sadistic and unfair when you consider how well his cousin, Tuor turned out.

If I'm being honest the story left a bad taste in my mouth.
