>Today's theme: Essential analytic reading list. I don't have the charts saved so whoever has the ones going around, feel free to share. What do you recommend people start with?

picrel so they don't get caught in your a*nglo bugman web of sophistry and instead move on to do actual philosophy

Books that refute philosophy? I don't mean any particular school of thought but the philosophical practice as a whole. I started to read more on philosophy recently and I am absolutely disgusted at the whole ordeal. What disgusts me in particular is the idea of submission of humanity to philosophical reasoning. At the end of the day it is philosophers who have the last say in the matter of what is and what is not human, who deserves death and who doesn't. Philosophers have been at the forefront of bloody revolutions and equally bloody restorations. You'd think that philosophy reveals some fundamental truth in order for it to be so important in social life but philosophers themselves seem to be unable to decide what exactly is this truth. There are academic philosophers who seriously ponder questions such as "would it be preferable to live inside the belly of an utilitarian machine constantly pumping happiness drug into your bloodstream" or "is nonexistence preferable to existence". I believe the whole activity is so detestable that we should send philosophers to concentration camps. I guess my problem is primarily with analytic philosophy which has a reputation for being particularly soulless and autistic. I've read pic related and loved it although that's not quite what I'm looking for, instead I'd prefer a refutation of entire Western philosophy, I guess the early Romantics and Nietzsche got quite close. Any more anti-philosophical books?

Not him but I'm reading this and it's really making me dislike analytic philosophy. It's a very comfy read even though overly pessimistic in its tone

Is the emergence of analytic philosophy a sign of decay of modernity? How do we resurrect the spirit of pre-Socratic philosophers as Nietzsche advises us to do in "Philosophy in Tragic Age of the Greeks"?
