Men have worn dresses (togas), plaited their hair, worn kohl and powder and wigs, hell they even invented high heels, as peacocking and displays of patricianhood, wealth and status have existed everywhere, but always the male/female power dynamic has expressed itself very clearly, and where it hasn't expressed itself, the society has degraded into entropy (e.g. the handful of failed matriarchies, the "progressive" Celtic tribes that were allegedly rife with catamites, women partying while the lands are invaded, their weak men suitably bulldozed by rivals etc).

"Gender" is a meme. If you have any self respect you'll stop using it. The correct term is "sex".
