Does the existence of God BTFO free will? I mean, if some event is said to "could have gone differently" then it must be that events that caused it could have been different as well, since if every event preceding it was the same, the outcome would have been the same as well. But every casual chain must terminate with an event whose cause is itself, namely God. So if you say that something could have been different, you are essentially saying that God could have been different, but the existence of God is not contingent on anything but himself, so there is only one way God could or can be and so only one way everything in the Universe could or can be.
