If you're referring to barnes and noble leatherbounds then I agree, they along with every other leather bound book looks like faux dated tacky shit. Pic related are nice looking books.

This is the last one I'm going to post 'cause I don't think it's actually on the wiki page anymore.

Hey /lit/ can someone help me on reading epic poems? I'm reading The Æneid, or more like, trying to read it. Well, I feel like I'm reading verses, and while I understand word by word, I can't get the full message, what it is talking about, what someone is doing to who or what. Also, I keep using a dictionary every other world(seems like poetry has a lot of difficult and unknow words for me), is it okay or does it kill the flow of the poem? First time reading a poem, btw.

How should the Prose Edda and Poetic Edda be read? Which one is better read first?

Hey /lit/,

Any tips for reading Non-Fiction for fun?

I have had a lot of time lately and want to brush up on some science and history.

When you read non-fiction for fun do you take notes?

Do you stress out if you don't remember every detail from what you read? (Dates, Names, Exact Geographical Locations for history or a variety of scientific names or equations)

Do you read each word individually and slowly or do you skim the sections you aren't interested in and read the sections you are carefully.

Where should I start? Which is my local library most likely to have? I'll be reading in English if that matters.

This won't be a 78, I guarantee it but I heavily recommend reading the other literature by Tolkien that goes with LoTR and the books that heavily influenced them. I highly recommend the Kalevala in that regard as well as the Prose Eda, as well as the other Epics. Disregard the historical fiction in pic related.

Hey, /lit/, I need some assistance.
I've taken a shine lately to Norse mythos and stories, and I was wondering if anybody knew of any books in that style?
I've already looked at the Norse recommended reading list (picture related) and plan to take a look at some of those, but I was looking for more of stories instead of histories/mythologies.
Any help would be appreciated.
