I'd like to subscribe to his site, his stuff is really good and he is unironically the best living philosopher (besides me, of course), but I heard that he scams people and even though I'm making quite a lot of money right now, I don't feel like waiting for weeks for an access that will never come...

But what does "best of all possible worlds" mean, when the existence of "other" worlds is an absurdity, as far as we are concerned, and we'd be in no position to compare them even if it were otherwise? Scientists still swear up and down that there's a fundamental difference between the classical behavior of the universe at macro scales, and the quantum behavior observed at the micro level, but that's only because the type of scientist who understands the micro levels has not the faintest clue of how the macro levels operate, and vice versa. Take for example the double-slit experiment. Its philosophical significance is that the particle's behavior is ultimately dominated by the observer's will; the particle will simply go wherever the scientist consciously wants it to go, depending on how he sets up the experiment, and the only conclusion the scientist will arrive at, no matter how many times he runs the experiment, is his own will. And this is where the quantum mechanists throw their hands up in the air and despair, pathetically exclaiming that "THAT'S NOT AT ALL HOW REALITY FUNCTIONS AT THE MACRO LEVEL, THIS IS A BRAND-NEW, RADICALLY DIFFERENT TYPE OF BEHAVIOR!" And yet isn't that precisely how pyschologists observe that people function under examination, in interviews for example? Doesn't the way the interviewer poses the question radically alter the type of answer he gets? Don't people always end up getting the types of answers they are looking for, at the end of the day? Isn't the infinite way in which statistics can be interpreted "a type of wish-fulfillment" as Baudrillard has strikingly noted? So there is no fundamental difference between the macro and quantum scales, it just takes a genius who understands both to connect the dots and reconcile the apparent contradictions.

Alright /lit/erati, mods are asleep— to those of us who have browsed the board for years, it has become apparent that the quality of the board has decreased. One can blame this on a number of factors— the introduction of /pol/ to 2011, an increase in the number of younger and less experienced readers into the folds of /lit/ (and 4chan, generally) over the years, the introduction of general threads, the exodus from /lit/ due to the creation of /his/, the influx of genre-fiction related posts, etc…

This is an indication of where the future of humanity is heading. It is the first real SF-inspired philosophy and it speaks of a future that will brutally crush and condense the masses under the weight of powerful new technological advances. In an era of broken homes, weak fathers and rising feminism, a need for the martial teachings and values of Ares is growing, and no other person embodies this better than him currently. We had a thread about this text up yesterday, but the mods deleted it. Why, I don't know. The author is a lunatic, but the text (http://orgyofthewill.net) is certainly literature/philosophy.

I was a bit annoyed that the thread got nuked because I was enjoying making fun of the narcissistic sociopathic thief Anthony Zyrmpas, aka "icycalm", who wrote the text, and his ridiculous pretensions to be some sort of genius despite the fact that he has accomplished nothing in his life that would qualify him for such a title.

Can we has thread again?
