How about an essays thread /lit/? I'm thinking it would be a neat idea to share good long-form writing from around the net.

Post a link, a summary and a reason why its worth reading. I'll start:

Physistist eloquently disscusses dark matter, what the hell it could be, why its throrically important and how it could fuck up our understanding of physics, either because its true or that our current models are broken.

You should read it because its rare to come across a discussion of dark matter that isn't sensationalist or scientifically uniformed while also being well written and an enjoyable read.
