Saw pic related in the library today and read some of it.
I was surprised by how little I enjoyed it, are Pynchon's other works like this?

What will happen to me if I read Bleeding Edge as my first Pynchon?

So let me get this straight, light now this is being called Lesser Pynchon because it's linear and coherent and refrains from meandering for whole chapters, has references the average nerd can wholly understand, doesn't make you feel physically sick once, barely ever bursts into song, and doesn't have an antiheroic loser protagonist petering out from being alienated by society?

ie basically the Status audience finds that it doesn't fit their current aesthetic expectations for what a literary novel should be?
Whatever that says about the reasons why they really liked the Pynchon so much would indicate that either his legacy isn't going to fare all that well in the future, or that this one will get re-evaluated sooner or later, maybe once it's become Historickal enough and an anti-obscurantist fad gets pushed on the canonneers.

Will this be Pinecone's last book before he dies?

This is the only Pinecone book my (very small) library has. All I know about it is that it has a silly Metal Gear passage that /lit/ spammed for a week. Is it a good starting book for him?

Post a song you think fits well with a certain book.

So did this make sense to anyone? When it came out everyone settled for "I was a little confused, I'll have to reread it" but then didn't because it was worse Vineland

Who thought that will be a good idea to publish this rubbish?
