who are you trying to impress? if you want to sell books you have to make them interesting, and chapters structured as self-contained narratives is a good way to turn pages

what is the purpose of the waterwheel and/or the windmill here? my understanding is that a structure would typically have either a water-powered mill or a wind-powered mill. Why would one need a wind mill if they have water power? Surely you wouldn't be milling grain in the winter? Is it to provide power to some other faculty that would require year-round functionality? your image is truly enigmatic, I would very much appreciate some insight. Thank you in advance.

Is this a good time to read Spengler's Decline of the West, or have recent decades shown that the West is declining in a way that he didn't anticipate (or somehow not declining at all)?
