So what is it that you don't like about Bukowski? Is it because you you don't get it?

Hey, what's /lit/'s opinion on Bukowski? I've read Post Office, I'm currently finishing Factotum and a copy of Women sits in my bookshelf. Haven't really checker any of his work other than these novels, especially poetry, but I'm not into poetry anyway.

Is he good or trash? Is he a pleb writer really? I personally enjoy his reading.

Let's be honest, /lit/, Bukowski poetry is sometimes awesome, sometime decent, but mostly mehh. His novels, however, are genius.

hey /lit/ new here and was wondering if you all could help me find some new authors/books to get into. i love bukowski and henry miller and that whole dirty realism feel, real life stuff nothing romanticized and just raw stuff. just finished all of bukowski's stuff and orwell's down and out in london and paris and i loved that too. so any suggestions would be appreciated

Guys i need a huge favor from somebody. I need some original content. A simple poem about anything. Im not taking credit for it outside of my classroom. Its for a final grade and honestly, I cant write poetry for shit.

Alright, so. I have completed the rough draft of a poem I've been at for 2 1/2 months now. It is incredibly disjointed, and I'm not sure what to do with it. On one hand, I say fuck it, and toss the shit in the trash. On the other hand, I did work my entire Summer on this poem. Regardless, here's the poem, and any constructive criticism is welcome.
