from a metadiegetic frame of reference he was right, he was following and acting upon what he believed to be right as per the teachings of the state and church
he was right in that his wrongness was necessary, narratively, in order for him to find the redemption which he denied to others, that denial allowing for the redemption of valjean allowing javert's redemption to take place, he played the role given to him by God, Hugo and God in that order in order to satisfy their grand design.
I.e. that which was wrong about him was also right on every level, other than the levels in which it was wrong, which were necessary (and therefore right).
Right (legally)->Wrong (morally)->Right (narratively)
denial (of valjean's redemption)->redemption (of valjean)->denial (of javert's redemption)->redemption (of javert)
javert (actor)->God (director)->Hugo (writer)->God (producer)

Can anyone convince me that Sam Harris isn't a bumbling retard and should be taken seriously?

Hello /lit/, I usually read a lot about sci fi and thrillers like from Tom Clancy, I also love historical novels. However I'm in a point where I want to look for something different, even if in my entire life I had a very closed mind, I usually never wanted to try different things, to the point I judged things only by 10 pages.

Then again, I want to experience new feelings when reading, I have never read a true "romance/love" book, and I'm up to read something good about it. Usually I hate all that stuff, but I'll give it a try. I don't want shitty teens stories, or ultra sensationalized by media. Whenever there is a little plot of a love relationship in most of my books, there are silly and not the point of the book, like "The Historian" from Elizabeth Kostova.

So, could you give me some good titles about love or romance? btw yes I read the wiki, but I want your opinion.

Thanks
