I am grown up. I am the type to read Maldoror or Blood Meridian and then balance it with something like Winnie-the-Pooh and Heidi, Girl of the Alps.
Heaven and hell need to know their place, far apart. You think the Absolute is their meeting place, but I say it is prior to both, in a very silent and still place that has no room for words.

I plan to read Winnie the Pooh and Blood Meridian next, but I have been busy with other stuff.

Horror is not supposed to feel good. I actually read Albert Fish's letter when I was 9 or 12 btw and became traumatized and decided to become child-free. I tap into that trauma when writing my own horror fiction, one of which was published.

Most horror fiction is supposed to unnerve or destabilize you, especially Aickman. It's supposed to momentarily induce a sense there is no purpose in this dog-eat-dog world or whatever. That's why people who only read horror are mentally ill.

I actually don't read as much horror as I used to. I unironically prefer children's novels like Wind in the Willows.

I also like watching nature documentaries for more "grounded" horror. I watched Nature: Arctic Wolf Pack recently and that felt kind of like horror; it felt kind of like "dukkha" horror.

You need to lay off the pessimistic literature, you edgelord fatalist. Ligotti doesn't touch the truth, even though his literature has a lot of literary value.

Zoroastrianism is not exactly a meme. It offers a form of mysticism that appeals to certain types of people. Basically, it is more overtly dualistic without viewing the material world as evil as Gnostics do. It appeals to people of a certain sensibility.
Pic related somewhat relates to my own interpretation of Zoroastrianism based on various texts like the Gathas and Mardanfarrokh's Doubt Removing Book. Top row is imbued by the spirit of Ahura Mazda, called Spenta Mainyu, whereas bottom row has the spirit of Ahriman, Angra Mainyu.
When it comes to artwork, I am drawn to dualistic extremes. For example, it has reached the point where I want my library to have nothing but artwork of the light (what I called spenta art) on the right side and artwork of darkness (what I call angra art) on the left. I read, watch, play games, and so forth according to this tradition of purification.
Activities like bird-watching and gardening (without pesticides and in an eco-friendly manner) can call forth the spirit of Ahura Mazda, Spenta Mainyu, into one's mind.

Fool! Disciple of Ahriman and spreader of lies! To only focus on horror is to be fooled by Ahriman and forsake the Ohrmazd's Spenta Mainyu! You must be purified by being locked in a cage and forced to read and watch high quality artwork while one recites the Gathas to banish your inner daevas. A wise man does not close his eyes to the darkness, but true wisdom comes from privileging the light over the darkness. You must be cleansed of the filth in your mind. As an incarnation of Sraosha, I can help you do so.
Both high quality serene artwork and dark ones touch the true nature of things. To say only the darkness does so is the greatest of folly that will send you to the House of Lies after you fall off the Chinvat Bridge.

Image related. I don't make lists for music. I do have a list for painters though.

Stfu, spiritual Semite trash. You act like the West is defined by Abrahamism.
