What's the best translation of Dante's Divine Comedy? Mandelbaum, Hollander?

pleb here. got some questions about pic related

>can you all confirm for me that Mandelbaum is the best translation as I have been led to believe?

>also, what (if any) classic texts is it essential for one to be familiar with before reading Dante. I have read the Bible in it's entirety, and I am currently reading the Iliad and plan on reading the Odyssey afterwards. Will I be fine, or will it be filled with references to other classic texts I have not read and thus go over my head?
