Reposting what anon wrote in previous thread bcoz i found it entertaining

bakker left his dildo in too long and developed toxic shock syndrome

in actuality, he got addicted to painkillers and was running low on cash so he astroturfed a fanbase to try getting his publisher to agree to pay him in full for a 4th book + a separate encyclopedia. publisher laughed it off, turns out his "quite large fandom" was the same weirdos over at the 3 seas forum + some actual schizo who started spamming untrue spoilers and pretended to be a reviewer for the entire TAE series.

finally, bakker failed to stick the landing, just like he's done with everything else in his work. interesting ideas that fall flat because he has no real conception of how to structure a narrative. he's much more interested in running around scraeming "cRaSh SpAcE oF mEaNiNg!!1!" and writing completely bonkers screeds about Trump, than he is in fleshing out his works beyond regurgitated Heidegger. We could have had soo much more, especially with things like the judging eye or the chapters about ishterebinth, but instead bakker was content to write another 40 pages about peachy prostitutes and the scent of honey and unwashed anuses engaging in the most disgusting gay-rape-cannibal-holocaust this side of a robert mapplethorpe fantasy
