It's actually a technique for engaging the subconscious. Jung called it "Active Imagination." It drove me nuts the first time I got into it, after reading this book. But I think I worked through a lot of things. I would recommend using the technique with picrel or some similar book.

The technique can be summarized as free form painting or drawing, and then seeing what you drew, and looking for symbols. Then you engage the inner dialogue, and redraw it a week later, and see what changed. I had a Jungian Analyst once, but he was more concerned with my dreams, so I never got much into my use of this technique with him.

Probably this one. I don't buy material books unless they are for reference, not in the last 15 years or so.
