A Stirnerist could live as a serial killer but also like a saint. There is no one way of life connected to his philosophy. It boils down to acting on your own accord, which people often tend to do anyway, just less consciously. Stirner's philosophy isn't a "thou shalt be selfish", it's merely "thou shalt not act in a way that is not in accordance with how you would like to act". Stirner is quite a tender fellow:

But I love them with the consciousness of egoism; I love them because love makes me happy, I love because loving is natural to me, because it pleases me. I know no "commandment of love." I have a fellow-feeling with every feeling being, and their torment[Pg 387] torments, their refreshment refreshes me too; I can kill them, not torture them.

cos he's right? Seriously, the only arguments that have been brought forth against him are misreadings based on the idea that the Einziger is a philosophical concept (it's not, check his reply to his critics 'Stirner's Critics') or 'I don't want this to be true so it's obviously wrong'. The history of Stirner's reception and lack thereof is fascinating, check out Bernd Laska's work.
