The other part of what these guys do is that as they have particularly poignant memories those memories wind up being tied to touchstones. Those touchstones are used to cast spells. If you have a memory of a bird in flight, and a memory of a person, then you could create a spell that would cause a person to fly. A side bonus of the emotional specialization thing is that if the dominant emotional context of the memory is aligned with the emotional specialty of the caster then they can tap into sources of that emotion to power the spell. Also casting a spell causes them to enjoy the roller coaster ride of those memories used to cast it.
