At what point is an armed revolution justified?

For the last couple of years I've been a strong proponent of the ideas:

"Yes, things are bad right now and need to change"

"The only way to effectively change things now is by turning the whole system upside-down(which would need an armed revolution)"

"Things right now aren't bad ENOUGH to warrant an armed revolution."

but what are really the indication that the armed revolution is justified that it will turn things to be Good in the future, any books about revolutions will be appreciated
