Also, problems actually cease to exist once you stop acknowledging them, since certain situations are only labeled problematic because some person can't make sense of it within his reach of experience and/or knowledge. There's no such thing as an objective problem. Therefore there are no problems except for when you create them. Cease to do so and you'll find remarkable peace of mind. Or don't, if that is what you want. I do not see how defining problems as some discrepancy between cherished thoughts and other phenomenons can be dishonest though.

Disengaging isn't the same as not actively engaging. I guess what I meant to say is 'just letting them happen'. You do seem to have a choice to actually respond to sensory experiences beyond observing them. As far as any choice is free, which is a whole different thing.
