Are their any fantasy novels that DON'T use standard fare, like quests, elves, dragons, faerie's and the like?

I'd just like to see one that did have any of that garbage.

So who's working on a Novel? What genre and how far are you?

Build a general idea of the setting and character, leaving them open and loose to have wiggle room. Too much definition and you run the risk of mental road blocks.

Some one once wrote that a characters actions must seem spontaneous at first then inevitable after.
