Because everything is a circle jerk, booktubers are a community for example, and so are the critics in journals and magazines, they don't want to upset the stablishment because they don't want to be left out of it.

I made a personal goal to write my wife one poem every week of 2023. So far, I have not managed to write a single line without cringing and giving up. I have tried for a total of 8 hours, and still have nothing to show. I grew up thinking I would become a writer one day, and my fool teachers encouraged me to keep that dream alive, and now I'm stuck in an office job unable to write an email or a line of poetry without obsessing over how it sucks and how stupid I am.
