I'm finally getting an e-reader soon, and I am about to read all of these in order. Will I finally get smarter? Reminder that I'm new to this reading thing; I haven't read a full book in a long time. Finally getting started.

Thoughts on the sticky reading suggestion list?
I'm somewhat new to reading and curious. What is that list exactly, should I follow it precisely? If yes, why exactly?
Thanks!

all you need fits on a single jpeg, if you can't bring yourself to read it don't even bother, you won't make use of it anyway

I am reading the Odyssey. I will pretty much stick to this list, so the Old Testament is next. I might read some modern works in the middle of it here and there though.

it's slightly autistic but good
the great books list at the back of the book is excessive for a beginner but generally on point
maybe a week

Does anyone have a list/text version of this reading list?

So, I want to calculate how much it would take me using the number of pages in the description of the website I use to pirate books, but I have some doubts with some of the authors in this list. I will only ask about the first row, and when I get done with that I'll probably do a post about the second one.

Herodotus: It says "History of the persian wars". In the website I use there are 4 books of his: "History - books 1-2" "History - books 3-4" "History - books 5-6" "The nine books of history". Which ones cover the persian wars?

Hippocrates: There are 8 books. They are named "Hippocrates treatments" from 1 to 8. Should I read all of them?

Plato: It says I should read "Dialogues". In the website there are Dialogues from 1 to 9, but there are also books with the names of the recommended works like "The Republic" or "Gorgias". Should I just read the books with the titles that are said in the list, instead of the books named "Dialogues"?

Bare minimum, at least as it pertains to the western canon
