It's what the elites want. The big foundations and the deep state wouldn't be pushing for this stuff in the academy if it didn't serve some elite end. Leftists complain about Koch money, but rarely complain about Rockefeller foundation, Ford Foundation, or Soros money that has been pumped into western academia for decades to fund certain projects. But if someone does raise the issue they scream about "conspiracy theory" and " muh Fox news," completely unaware that their favorite left wing edgy theory heroes, e.g. Herbert Marcuse or Frantz Fanon, were on the payroll of the deep state.
