Hello /lit/,

To put it bluntly I seek advice on what books I should read.

I have only begun to read recreationally (not sure if this is a word lol...) and I would like to commit to reading in general. Helps me sleep at night, is very stimulating, and overall a rewarding experience. Plus my English could use a broader vocabulary.

Now here is a bit of background info, if it helps I guess:

Never really read anything during High School, a lot of domestic issues were going on and as a child reading was not really my priority sadly. Anyways, wouldn't mind being recommended High School books for now.

Now my last read was "The Hobbit", which was recommended to me by some friends. Not the most advanced book, but a very good read nonetheless.

I would like to start reading other books in between each book in the trilogy to come.

I'm open to anything but I will say that my reading level is not that advanced. I'm just looking to build a good literary foundation for now before I start reading books on a grander scale I guess.

Thanks in advance.

Tl;Dr: I would like to start reading more would like /lit/'s expert advice on where to start.
