i absolutely don't take the place of any of that--if anything i encourage and help facilitate those types of fellowships, readerships, positions, etc.
what i do is provide a small reading group to a series of very dedicated scholars who are interested in discussing philosophical subjects at a high level. that i use it to further career prospects of student attendees absolutely does not take the place of legitimate jobs, positions, connections, etc. i see myself as one part of a much larger system, a part that can easily be ignored or skipped if you want; but, as a reading group, it is not just a "front", it is first and foremost an arena of ideas and debate.

this is a confused post. you seem to be saying about 10 things and therefore nothing.
1. i'm not just a gloried "headhunter recruiter." if you have to reduce things in that capacity, id say: closer to a mid-wife.
2. you confuse the end of human life with the end of dynamic life, or somehow see the possibility of immortality as antithetical to meaning/purpose in a bizarre zero-sum game. i don't know what you want me to say; you are wrong, this is weakness, this is how everyone thinks--and then you wonder why the world is the way it is...
