any texts out there that discuss this?

from Al-Baqarah:

>(Pickthall) As for the disbelievers, whether thou warn them or thou warn them not it is all one for them; they believe not. Allah hath sealed their hearing and their hearts, and on their eyes there is a covering. Theirs will be an awful doom.

of this Al-Sa'di says
>the means of attaining knowledge and goodness are blocked for them, so there is no hope for them and no goodness is to be expected of them"
Al-Maybudi says
>approval and wrath are beginningless attributes
Al-Qurtubi says
>We find here definitive proof of the fact that it is Allah who is the author of guidance and misguidance. So we can only be amazed at the obtuseness of the minds of the Qadariyya who say that they are the authors of their own faith and guidance."

does this mean Allah chooses ahead of time who will be saved and who will be doomed? idk it kinda reminds of Calvin from the very superficial understand i have of him

I finished the interview section last night, I will most likely finish the book today. I've loved every moment of it.

Has anyone read the second and third books in the Vorrh trilogy? I recently finished the first book and enjoyed it. That said, I'm not entirely sure I need a second and third book.

Writing another one of those gritty, edgy things in a dark fantasy setting, with a big bad and his henchmen. What's a good reason for a protagonist to go on a rampage, other than the usual "family murdered/raped" cliche?

Denial of a dream seems pretty good to me. The guy wants to go to a prestigious X academy to become a Y, headmaster tells him to go take a walk because of a personal grudge. Years later, headmaster further moves up in the world, and the main guy builds up a huge resentment, designing a revenge plot to destroy his dreams in return. What do you think?

I finished 2666 a couple hours ago and I'm still in a very heightened emotional state. I seriously feel like I could tear up at any second and I'm not entirely sure why.

I don't listen to anything particularly /lit/ related.

>The Dollop
>We Hate Movies
>Last Podcast on the Left

Those are my "mains" I guess you could call them. The ones I will stop listening to another podcast when a new one drops.

I'll give Chapo a listen now and then, but they can get quite obnoxious at times.
Novara can also be good.
Archipelago is also good.

There's some other movie related stuff, but they aren't really worth mentioning.

Books about literaly theory, literaly criticism or lniguistics?
I'm reading Literaly Theory: an introduction by Terry Eagleton (too marxism and politics), El Deslinde: Prolegómenos a la teoría literaria by Alfonso Reyes (too objective) and Trattato di semiotica generale by Umberto Eco (interesting)
