This is starting to get at the point, and a good one, too. Direction-brain social-media-brain-rot responses like these >>21853189 only too neatly give a perfect example of what Nietzsche was also reacting against, and why he (apparently paradoxically, to those with crude misreadings of him) lobbed broadsides at German nationalists and crude antisemites as much as he did at Judaism and Christianity themselves, the ideals of liberalism, multiculturalism, democracy, egalitarianism, anarchism, feminism, etc., in such a way that makes it clear he would not really fit into either today’s “right” nor “left” very easily.

This still doesn’t mean a liberal commentator’s reading like Kaufman’s of Nietzsche as a proto-liberal makes much sense, since it doesn’t (although you can indeed REWORK/lift some of Nietzsche’s ideas for such an end, as that’s how philosophical inspiration, it doesn’t mean you agree with them on everything, you can still be influenced by their ideas and impressed by some of their insights).

To put it in simple terms any smoothbrain who’s had their synapses terminally rewired by chronic-social-media-use (CSMU) can understand, Nietzsche had a healthy level of contempt both for “the woke PC social justice warriors” (or more accurately, the equivalents of them in his day), as well as figures analogous today to the worst types of /pol/-brain, as well as the back-then analogues of bourgeois NPC evangelical Christian GOP-voting God-fearing plebs, and the like, because none of them are very and properly “aristocratic” (or, if they are or were, it is or was an inverted aristocracy characterized by ressentiment, whether by leftists for the strong, flourishing, successful and deemed “oppressor” outgroups, likewise by /pol/-brain for Jews, GOP-cücks for the Goddamned liberals, etc.).

Basically, he would probably still laugh at and/or despise failures and losers who are still failures and losers even if they have the correctly edgy, masculinist, Darwinist views implanted in them by /pol/ (although probably not as much as he’d despise progressives).

However, what Nietzsche likely failed to fully understand, is that by reducing everything to power (the will-to-power, vitality, or what-you-will), he inevitably had to fall into corruption by nihilism, even while claiming to be fighting against it and trying to replace it with a life-affirming “transvaluation of values” that would positively inspire future thinkers, artists, even statesmen.

“There are no facts, only interpretations,” as one of his early sayings goes. So who’s to be the Cosmic Judge or existential-moral umpire over the Nazis reappropriating him for their own ends, and figures like Foucault for a radical leftist end? After all, they’re all just following their own will-to-power, whether to create a totalitarian NPC-Nazi society, or an invertedly totalitarian leftist society of ressentiment for “the oppressors.”
