One Soldiers War by Arkardy Babchenko is pretty interesting, it was written by some russian jew who got drafted to be a low level communications grunt during the first chechen war, the book describes how much of a clusterfuck the russian army was, how brutal the chechen guerilla tactics were and how he constantly got brutalized and humiliated by his senior team members.
