Dream-film has been around almost as long as conventional literature-and-theater derived film. And you wouldn't think the perspective shift can be replicated, because you haven't seen a film (the only medium capable of doing it) do it. It's not exactly the same because the it's the
character's perspective, and it isn't happening in your own head. This is as close to objective replication of the dream state as we can get, unless video games mature as an art form in our lifetimes, which I doubt
