Spinoza is probably the lowest-test philosopher:
1) No libido
2) Fat
3) Hair loss
4) Looks tired and depressed
5) Weak

His books also represent a sterile, logical structure. Of course, i agree with spinoza on determinism and such.

He looks a bit like Harold Bloom, also low testosterone. Are there any high-testosterone philosphers?

What do you shitheads think of Spinoza?

Hey /lit/, I'm writing a paper defending monism for my metaphysics class. I'm not a huge fan of the concept, but I figured defending monism would be a lot easier than critiquing it (besides, the author of my textbook rips it apart anyway).

tl;dr What's your opinion on monism? Pic related, it's Spinoza.

When philosophers say things like "everything is part of one entity", are there suppose to be actual implications tied to that? Does it say anything at all about capabilities of humans?
