i used to be extremely scared of dying, it fades out if you stop romanticizing the idea of it. you die every night, in a way, and the death of a momentary unconsciousness is the same as an eternal death in all the crucial ways.

as far as the existential bit goes, death isn't a state, it's a non-state, and it's the finality of all things, not just of you. cows died to make your body, and corn died to make those cows, and the sun is dying to make that corn. all sapients die a mental death, which is what scares you, but all bodies serve to nourish the future in a much more noble way than any mind could seek to change it consciously

basically just stop thinking of yourself as a cog in a machine and start thinking of yourself as an infinitely small and infinitely large portion of the fractal of reality, equally as important and unimportant as everything else that did, does, or will ever exist, and suck it up

a man once approached me by asking me if the book i was reading was 50 shades of grey

was carrying a copy of Homage to Catalonia with me on the bus and someone asked what it was, then who it was by, and responded with "oh i love orwell, 1984 is my favorite book, i wish more people understood the dangers of socialism like he did"

when i bought a copy of the social contract at a bookstore, the guy read the author and said "oh, i didn't know he wrote books"

the last one wasn't an attempt at flirtation but it still confuses me

you literally just described Freud. even people who agree with him wouldn't disagree.

if you spend more time consuming than you do producing, you're disgusting.

i made a new year's resolution not to associate myself with people whose lives make me sad, so i'm gonna have to let you question your decisions on your own time

i have all of those "achievements" except football and i'm creepy as fuck, so you might want to question your assessment
