God is the act of being itself to the medieval and apostolic theologians. Being requires energy: all matter is itself a form of energy. Even the act of moving requires energy. Thus, creation requires energy. Is energy God or did God somehow create energy?

All respected answers will give a reason why.

Why was metaphysics rejected by Kant?
Hell, how does something end up being called metaphysical and not purely philosophical or empirical?
Why is Kant's rejection of metaphysics being agreed upon as wrong nowadays by some academics?

Is the revaluing of Catholicism on /lit/ hand-in-hand with the revaluing of Scholasticism? Pretty much all respected theological talk on /pol/ and /lit/ is Thomist. Was the rejection of Scholasticism a mistake?

It would seem that European medieval metaphysics assert for the necessary nature of an Abrahamic-like God, thus dismissing the reality and/or the importance of other divine concepts from other religions. Is there any room to still assert the authority in metaphysics of other forms of theism outside of the medieval understanding?

Teach me Catholicism's understanding of sex and sexuality.

>What is the purpose of sex?

>Why is it the purpose of sex and not something else?

>Must all sex be directly done in the intent of all the purposes to be considered moral? Why?

>If gay marriage is wrong due to the lack of ability to procreate, what of couples that physically cannot have children?

How does rejecting God mean a rejection of objective morality? Aquinas says that morality can be determined by reason. With reason and genetic determinism, what are we missing not talking about God or taking him out of the picture?

Aquinas asserts and demonstrates that knowing God exists and knowing God creates and maintains the world out of love is demonstrable by reason.

Does he assert and demonstrate that our purpose is to live towards that divine love or is our "purpose" asserted through Christianity based on faith alone according to him?

Not exactly.
Jesus gave the apostles the authority to teach the faith. Their authority is what gives the Gospels its authority, as it's the teachings written down. The apostles passed on that authority. This is where the church gets its authority to make claims about doctrine.

God's law is understandable to humans, as Paul says it's written on their heart. It is innate to them. However, it's difficult to discern and the church uses its authority to define it with clarity. And yes, they are imperfect people but their authority means that they are guided by the Holy Spirit on these occasions where they must exercise that authority given to them.

And it's not God's will in full. We understand and know the essence of it but as we begin to know more about the world it will grow. Thus, it's dynamic in application but the same in dogma and essence.

>God is pure actuality, with no potentiality.
>this implies it contains all ontological attributes and their perfections
>he creates things with potentiality, ignoring that he has no potentiality and yet all attributes pre-exist in him, which would include potentiality
How am I to make since of this? What am I not getting?
