It’s true that they’re prone to abuse from parasitic filth but republics are glorious when the right men are in charge, the citizenry aren’t idiots and the electorate excludes those who are, and the state rewards citizens for genuinely patriotic behaviour instead of currying favour with industrialists and beaurocrats (e.g. giving land to militiamen and conscripts to thank them for their service and create a prosperous class of landowning yeomen).

Personally I think a monarchy with a legislative diet elected from a qualified electorate (I.e more qualifications than just citizenship and being older than 18) is the best route.

No. I will live keep growing potatoes and raising poultry and I will live as a cottar on a comfy smallholding and I will be happy.
