I read Christian books for a year, philosophy of religion, history, theology, but no book prepared me for this closure of Catholicism that I encountered. I literally can't get baptized without a year-long, no-nonsense initiation, RCIA, with attending weekly classes. The priest literally wrote me back that baptism is "not a hair appointment" and I can't just ask to be baptized, and if I don't like it I should ask my friends to baptize me. Bro, what the fuck? Just let me join the fucking church.
