Hey /lit/, what's up with the collective hatred for this man? Can anyone give me some insight? Is it similar to why Chuck Palahniuk is hated?

I'm not too familiar with his work. I read a little bit of American Psycho, got bored, and stopped reading.

I was just curious, but what do you guys think of Bret Easton Ellis and his books? I very enjoyed American Psycho and Glamorama, now I'm on Imperial Bedrooms.
