Feeling out the room for opinions on a possible retranslation of 'parable' in the new testament
im currently taking notes on a prospective overhaul of the entire bible and canon in general, but that is a 40 year project that is nascent at the moment
im currently looking at greek words which have become naturalized in english, which i think, given a timeframe of perhaps 3000 years, or possibly more given eternity, those words will wane or lose meaning in english, in proportion to the factor of influence the church loses, which is quickly waning as well, so these words, which in a formerly chrisitian dominated west were common and understood, will come to be archaic and anachronistic

para, typically indicates besides, or along, or near as a preposition
and bolla is a verb that means thrown cast or put
its difficult because verbs do not have cases so we cannot know the exact nature of the relationship to the preposition
tentative translations that focus more on the germanic/romantic portion of the english lexicon would be thrownalong, castnear, besideput, something like that, but my personal tendency is towards 'an aside'
so you would have the aside of the sower and the seed
it certainly loses its 'cool' factor, but that is retained in greek, which to the uneducated masses, which, though modernity would have us puffed up to believe otherwise, are growing very quickly, means very little
i believe a translation is meant expressly for the masses for good holistic christian education and defense, and that such words may hinder such a process
im essentially writing this for a ten year old because most adults read like one
not to say ill write it dumbly or stupidly, but simply and elegantly, utilizing the best portions of the english lexicon, and leaving out the omre arcane parts, such as naturalized greek and french words.
thoughts on this process? is it futile to try a new translation? for me the geneva bible is profitable, but most people cant even read it due to the nature of its writing, so i cannot recommend it to a normal person
