I'm almost done with this book and I am really enjoying it. The only parts that I don't like as much are the sequences between Robert Jordan and Maria. It doesn't seem realistic for a woman to go through so much trauma and quickly recover enough to fall in love so quickly. I don't know that much about ptsd but it just seems to fast to just fall so deeply in love with someone you don't know. Robert Jordan's love of her seems naive and unrealistic as well, and as somebody who has rushed too quickly into a serious relationship I found myself strangely wary about the puppy love between Robert and Maria.

I understand the value of their relationship in the context of the story and its themes. He might live the rest of his life in those three days. He "marries" Maria and lives a short life with her.

What did other people like and dislike about the book? I think I would like to read more Hemingway, what would /lit/ suggest I read next? Is there any author with similar subject matter or style who is better?
