Technical literature on self-propagating systems? I am most interested in math or economics, but anything will do. Here's the basic definition of a self-propagating system.

I remember finding out about them in 2015-16 while playing with compsci and math, but I don't remember wherefrom. They were not referred to as self-propagating systems or automata, however.
