I am reading Paradise Lost. It’s living up to the hype. In book V or IV where the angels banter with Satan after catching his ass, and Satan shittalks God, Gabriel, and all of them.

When did you realize that libertarianism as a political rather than a personal philosophy is only defendable based on a purely egalitarian want to allow other persons to pursue their best interests within the limits of their material power? There is no discussion as to whether or not libertarianism is conducive to the long-term survival and possible flourishment of a nation: and indeed it is not. It is mostly a destructive ideology, the true aim of which, liberation of action, can either be let go to flow freely, hereby weakening and splintering the society adopting such a belief, or contradicted outright with strict cultural or perhaps even legal institutions; and so become only liberalism in name, in the promise that an act is technically possible.
But what is it that makes advocating for such a system egalitarian and selfless, even to a fault? It is because, if you were advocating purely for your own self-interests, you'd be advocating either for wishful narcissism, or for tyrannical strength, only for yourself. That is the alternative, an understandable and noble feat of honesty, after all not everybody can rule the world, and if you work with your best interests within the limits of your material power at heart instead of the longevity of the nation, that is also a valid one.

What are some books/authors to elaborate on this feel? As you might imagine, i already took a look at Nietzsche, but that's pretty entry level.

You need private property for market prices to arise which are necessary for economic calculation. Without calculation you cant coordinate ressources in an efficient way.
Thats why you starve or have a lack of energy despite sitting on one of the biggest oil reserves.
