>Hmm, wouldn't that mean that the holy spirit is the same as God but also distinct?

The holy spirit is God’s power in action, his active force. (Micah 3:8; Luke 1:35)

God sends out his spirit by projecting his energy to any place to accomplish his will. !
—Psalm 104:30; 139:7.

>Peter is the rock

The Gospels reveal that, on a number of occasions, they argued about who was the greatest among them. (Matthew 20:20-27; Mark 9:33-35; Luke 22:24-26)

If Jesus had already given Peter primacy, or superiority, could there have been any question as to who was the greatest among the apostles ?

Anyway, we should we see how did Peter himself understand Jesus’ words

Growing up an Israelite, Peter would have been familiar with various Hebrew prophecies speaking of a “stone” or a “cornerstone.” (Isaiah 8:13, 14; 28:16; Zechariah 3:9)

When he quoted one of them in a letter to his fellow believers, Peter explained that the prophesied “cornerstone” was the Lord Jesus Christ, the Messiah. Peter used the Greek term pe’tra (the same word found in Jesus’ statement at Matthew 16:18) for CHRIST ALONE.—1 Peter 2:4-8.

>JW started from a doomsday cult in the 19th century

Jehovah's witnesses were founded by Jesus Christ in 33 AD during Pentecost in Antioch

>you reject that Jesus is Lord

What do you mean ? The Bible calls Jesus 'Lord' in many places. How can you reject that ?

>Veneration and honoring people and asking them to pray for you in heaven isn't worship

The Bible shows that we should pray only to God, in Jesus’ name.

Jesus told his disciples:
“This is how you are to pray: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.” (Matthew 6:9)

NEVER did he instruct his disciples to pray to saints, angels, or anyone other than God !!

Jesus also told his followers: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6, NAB)

ONLY Jesus is authorized by God to intercede on our behalf.—Hebrews 7:25.

????

No he was not. Hitler tried to kill Christians (JWs).

the true victims of the holocaust were Jehovah's Witnesses.

For starters, Satan is the one behind the holocaust.

Secondly, he tried, as many times before, to have all of God's people killed. That's why he really wanted to get rid of JWs.

https://encyclopedia.ushmm.org/content/en/article/nazi-persecution-of-jehovahs-witnesses

1,500 of Jehovah’s Witnesses died during the time of the Holocaust.

Close to 400 Witnesses were executed in Germany and in Nazi-occupied countries.

We were persecuted because they adhered to the Bible’s teachings. When the Nazis demanded that we do what the Bible forbids, we refused to comply. We chose to “obey God as ruler rather than men.” (Acts 5:29)

As are Witnesses in all countries today, JWs living under Nazi rule were neutral in political issues. (John 18:36) Therefore, they refused to serve in the military or support war efforts.—Isaiah 2:4; Matthew 26:52.

But Hitler/Satan failed, because God always protects his loyal worshippers. Just like he brought down Pharaoh and liberated the Hebrews from slavery, our Lord has out an end to Nazi persecution so that my brothers can once again worship in peace

You are free to believe what you want to believe.

I believe that all the evidence given shows that God doesn't torture people in fire forever. What kind of monster would do that ?

Certainly not my God, the God of LOVE (1 John 4:8)

>And as others have noted there are philological issues with your translations as well,

Which ones

although some Bible copyists were careless or even deceitful, many others were highly skilled and meticulous.

Between the sixth and tenth centuries C.E., the Masoretes copied the Hebrew Scriptures and produced what is known as the Masoretic text. They reportedly counted the words and the letters to verify that no mistakes crept in. Where they suspected errors in the master text they were using, they noted these in the margin. The Masoretes refused to tamper with the Bible text. “Interfering with it purposely,” wrote Professor Moshe Goshen-Gottstein, “would have been for them the worst crime possible.”

Second, the sheer volume of manuscripts today actually helps Bible scholars to spot errors. For example, religious leaders taught for centuries that their Latin versions contained the authentic Bible text. Yet, at 1 John 5:7, they had inserted the spurious words referred to earlier in this article.

The error even crept into the influential English King James Version! But when other manuscripts were discovered, what did they reveal? Bruce Metzger wrote: “The passage [at 1 John 5:7] is absent from the manuscripts of all ancient versions (Syriac, Coptic, Armenian, Ethiopic, Arabic, Slavonic), except the Latin.” As a result, revised editions of the King James Version and other Bibles have removed the erroneous phrase.

I don't know your grandma but Bible prophecies suggest that there would be disasters during “the conclusion of the system of things,” or “the last days.” (Matthew 24:3; 2 Timothy 3:1)

For example, concerning our time, Jesus said: “There will be food shortages and earthquakes in one place after another.” (Matthew 24:7)

Soon, God will rid the earth of all causes of pain and suffering, including natural disasters.—Revelation 21:3, 4.

I suggest you ask her yourself why she does that.
