Joy Luck Club is one of the only books that I remember not finishing. I bullshitted my way through the assignment and still got a good grade. Don't know if it was actually bad or if I was just getting lazy. I'm disturbed by how much I've forgotten about my education compared to other anons.

Had to read Night. I remember disliking it and criticizing having to read it in an essay. Teacher didn't like that.

I loved Catcher and I wish it was never part of any school curriculum. It only attracts so much bait and shit posting as it does because so many people who could never relate to Holden were forced to read it.

I chose to read Ender's Game for an assignment (same author). Liked it at the time. Never read Pastwatch.

House of the Scorpion. Had to read this too. Generic YA. The only other YA novel I remember having to read was Holes. Seeing how much YA anons ITT had to read makes me think I got lucky.

And To Kill a Mockingbird. I will defend this book because the childhood reminiscence was very comfy even though we all know we had to read it for the anti-racism.

I did enjoy it in school, but The Giver is trash. I actually read the sequels voluntarily because I was a stupid kid, and they were even worse. Brave New World is great and if you think The Giver is somehow better than it then you have shit taste.

Animal Farm is great satire. Lord of the Flies though... I have to re-read it sometime. Need to get through Shakespeare as well.

Fahrenheit 451 was okay, probably the weakest of the "big three" dystopias (1984, Brave New World). If that was the worst you had to read then you must have had it good.
