I started reading Kierkegaard right now and it's going fine. What's the big deal?

Can you point to literally any source that claims that "praus" (πραεῖς in the text, I take it is not in nominative here) means "warhorse"?

Why should I care if translations are inherently inferior when numerous greats read poetry and philosophy in translation (Wagner read Aeschylus in German, Aquinas read Aristotle in a Latin translation)? What, for the metre? The sound of it? I can just hear someone recite it on youtube lol.

Why would you think of it as derogatory? English is a barbaric goblin tongue, an Indo-European cumdumpster with eroded grammar, schizoid orthography and effete phonology. It's excellent for reddit-puns and neovagina dilation manuals, but it utterly fails as a true artistic expression method. Be proud of who you are and always remember you could have been born as a mentally stunted monolingual angloid who couldn't wrap his head around proper inflection if his life depended on it.

So what exactly defines Western ideology/thought/culture/values? What do conservatives mean when they cry out for the defense of Western values? Marxism itself is a Western ideology if you categorize things purely on where they were developed.
I've read some Allan Bloom and even there the concept felt nebulous.
