My idea for a novel: a painfully bland zero-to-hero story about a regular boy who finds out he's a chosen one champion and the only one to conquer the ancient evil. Him and his father figure mentor go on an epic adventure quest to train and obtain special powers to destroy the Dark Lord.

And then he dies at the beginning of like chapter three and everybody has to figure out how to conquer the ancient evil without a chosen one.

Is there a way out? Has anyone found salvation in this aesthetic nightmare?
