I love how triggered everyone is in this thread at the prospect that people haven't always seen war as the PTSD-inducing meatgrinder we largely see it as today. Not because "that's how war really is" but how that's how we want it to be. The very idea that war can be seen as something beautiful and exhilarating is offensive and incomprehensible to the modern sheltered man.

Marinetti, together with many other Futurists, fought in The Great War and in World War 2, he threw himself into the chaos of the world and loved every second of it. Ernst Jünger did the same and was severely wounded a dozen or so times. Do you think their opinions on the aesthetics of war are still useless even though they've been there in the trenches? How hard are you projecting your own insecurities right now because you've never once gone outside your own sheltered and comfortable lifestyle to throw yourself into the maelstrom of uncertainty and adventure?

Fuck off with you people who can't even for a second throw off your contemporary postmodern goggles of how you see the world.

Need you lads to revise a short response that's due for class. The prompt question is “Does Violent Media play as big a role for girls as it does for boys?”

>Response
Idk maybe tbh lad - what do girls watch that is violent? sailor moon? I loved sailor moon as a kid tbh but that wasn’t very violent. Was there even blood in Sailor Moon? I forget. It was all flashes and lasers and transformations that made my heart and dick go doki doki (based sailor mars will never dominate me and top qt and sweetie sailor mercury will never do homework with me and give me kisses on the cheek when I do something good feels bad man). A-anon why were you getting lewd feelings for the sailors as a little boy?!!! Because they were attractive and their personalities were likeable unlike all the girls I knew irl at the time kek. Little girls are a bunch of fags. muh cooties muh don’t touch me anon you’re gross. Lmao cuck I hate myself cuck. Holy shit I want to watch Sailor Moon now.

Anyway idk what the fuck little girls watched as kids I barely remember what I watched as a kid. It’s not like I had many friends anyway let alone girls. Fuck this question tbh I don’t know what you want me to say? Should I do some research and spew that shit to collect the east 10 points? Kek what a joke kill me now lmao.

Sup /lit/ I need your help figuring out if I'm a retarded hipster or not.

I find myself being disgusted at the state of popular contemporary literature. Obviously the lowest common denominator stuff like John green and Hungry games is annoying but I also resent the relative popularity of stuff like junot diaz, murakami, McCarthy, that woodpecker fuck, stuff that literature majors seem to like.

I know that this a prejudice because I haven't really read anything by then (I usually read the back or skim a few random pages and feel too repulsed to continue), but I just hate the whole context that comes with these books. I hate how idiosyncratic and special all the plots sound, how superficially distinct they all appear but they all have the same message of this like darling individuality or grimdark mankind hubris warning I don't know again I haven't really read any of this shit so I don't even know where these opinions are coming from.

I picked up a random cormac McCarthy book once and it was a deep existential conversation written in dramatic form with two characters ' black ' and ' white ' like c'mon if you saw that shit posted on /lit/you would think some edgy sperg had written it after watching true detective.

Why do people read this shit? Why do I hate this shit?

Random pic unrelated
